Whatcha Eating Wednesday? - December 3, 2014

Buttermilk Pie is my absolute favorite pie in the world universe! I love it so much. It is best when it is chilled in my opinion. My mom makes the best one so I decided to post her recipe for it today. It is so easy and whips up in no time. It's the actual baking that takes the longest (as with most pies).

*Note: This recipe will make enough to fill a deep dish pie crust.

Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients 
  • 4 Eggs beaten
  • 2 cups Sugar 
  • 2/3 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1/8  Teas. Salt
  • 1 Stick Butter (1/2 cup), melted
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • Cinnamon 
Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients together except for cinnamon.
  2. Pour mixture into unbaked pastry shell.
  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Bake at 400 º for 10 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to 350º and bake for 25-30 minutes.
