Back among the living

Well, I have been terribly sick since Friday. I woke up just not feeling well that day and it progressed quickly. I'm pretty sure it was the flu, although I didn't get an "official diagnosis." All the symptoms were there. I have never been that sick in my whole adulthood. I usually have a 24-hour bug, slight cold, but never a full-blown, bedridden, nasty sickness. It was awful!

However, I was so incredibly blessed. My husband took such good care of me. I had 3 home cooked meals almost everyday (even sticking to our Paleo). He took care of the kids, made sure they were quiet. On top of that, my wonderful church family brought food (they even went out of their way to meet our diet restrictions), sent texts, called, and most importantly prayed. Sometimes, it's easy to feel lonely when I live away from my parents and siblings, especially in times of need, but I am so blessed by my church family that they are always there to show me how much they love me. I was just speechless!

On a weird note, all the blogs I follow have disappeared off my dashboard...not sure what to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated...

Paleeee -- Ohhhhhh!

Hey there!

Well with a new year comes new resolutions, goals, dreams, yadda, yadda, yadda. I don't typically make New Year's resolutions, because 1) I like food too much, 2) I go through ups and downs with my work out routines all the time, 3) I don't drink or smoke, 4) I don't like being forced to do something, it takes the fun out of it, and finally, 5) I don't like making the same one's every year to only stumble on it and feel bad about it. I am all for goals and and making them, but don't base your whole year off it, base your life off of it. A "resolution" won't see you through the end, but determination and resolve will. Commit to something, not to make a resolution, but to better yourself.

Hooooowevvvverrrr......JT and I started a challenge (that just so happened to be started this month, coincidence). :-) It is the 45-day Paleo challenge.

It is basically a lot of lean meats, veggies, and fruit. No dairy, no wheat, no grain, no sugar, no legumes. We are on day four and it is going well....it is not going to be an easy 45 days, but we are excited to see if we can do it. I love a challenge.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
