I took Sophia and Jerry to CiCi's Pizza for Sophia's Birthday yesterday. We don't listen to secular music, but there are songs my kids recognize from movies or whatever. So, anyway, as we are sitting there eating our pizza, that song "she's a maniac, maniac" starts playing and Jerry immediately gets his air guitar out and starts shredding metal. He looks at me and says "Mommy, you're on drums." I reluctantly pick up my imaginary sticks and start jamming away on my drum set. Sophia, of course, wants to be in the band, so she picks up her....violin. When she started playing her pretend violin to that song, I about died laughing! There was no question in her mind that a violin was an appropriate instrument of choice to that song.
On a side note, here's a conversation I had with Jerry at CiCi's:
Jerry just went and got his second helping of noodles with alfredo sauce. A few bites in, he takes a long sigh and gets a glazed look in his eyes.
Me: Are you full?
Jerry: Yes.
Me: Why did you get so much? You don't have to finish all that.
Jerry: Oh, I'm going to finish it.
Me: You're going to puke.
Jerry: *Not jokingly* I might.
I think that was a risk he was willing to take to prove his point. :-) Crazy boy!
